HP has extended its labels and packaging digital printing solutions with the launch of HP Indigo WS6800 and 20000 digital presses for the first time in the US market.

The WS6800 digital press is the third-generation of HP Indigo WS6000 digital press series which has seen close to 700 installations across the world.

The press is equipped for advanced digital performance for a variety of applications, including pressure-sensitive labels, in-mold labeling and shrink sleeves.

Speaking about the products HP Indigo division vice president and general manager Alon Bar-Shany said, "With rising demand for customized campaigns and faster turnaround, converters and printers are increasingly turning to HP to satisfy client needs from pressure-sensitive and in-mold labels to corrugated packaging.

"By partnering with HP, customers have access to our latest technology advancements, helping differentiate their offerings to attract more business from leading global brands."

Iowa-based The Label Advantage, which recently installed the HP Indigo WS6800 digital press, said that its productivity has increased by about 50%.

Apart from the WS6800, the company will also be showcasing the 30-inch HP Indigo 20000 digital press that enables converters to target new markets and larger, specialty applications. The company has already installed 10 presses worldwide.

HP will be showcasing these products at Labelexpo 2014. Apart from these two presses, the company will also display the new patent-pending Mosaic application of HP SmartStream Designer that offers fast turnaround of highly customized campaigns where every copy is different.

A new self-sustaining imaging oil kit made for Indigo digital presses that can reduce waste by generating distilled imaging oil will also be put on display.
